Classmate Blog Critique-Assignment 9-MM 3503-Lucas Sharp
Jonah Rathburn
I have looked through Jonah's blogs and they all pop out to me in their own unique way. I will say that I am a little biased because me and Jonah share same interests. He is a huge fan of the NBA, like me, and we would always talk about what was going on around the league after class. He also likes superheroes, like myself, which I don't find very many people with both of these interests. I have always been a fan of his work in the multiple classes we have had together. That is why I chose him for my classmate blog critique.
I really enjoyed his blog on NBA Top Shot, which are digital collectibles. I have always considered myself a big fan of the NBA, being that basketball is my favorite sport, but I had no idea what NBA Top Shot was until reading his blog. He goes into great depth on what they are, how to get them, has various links and videos to go along with his research. After reading through his work, I agree with him in the sense that I would not invest in these either, just because the NBA owns the rights to them and I don't think I could get my hands on one that was worth something.
My favorite blog he posted was his Pop Culture, The Ever Expanding MCU. A lot of people only know the basic superheroes like Iron Man, Captain American, or Hulk, but they fail to realize there is so many more. In this blog Jonah really goes into depth on not just the popular movies and the television shows that Marvel has released, but also the buisness side of how Disney aquired Marvel. He also has all sorts of interactive links throughout the blog. At the end of it he takes some time to talk about the upcoming movies Marvel plans on releasing, and his opinion on them. I completely agree with him on the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home film, he said it best, "I for one and keeping my fingers crossed so I can see Toby Maguire throw on the suit one more time." The detail he put in this blog is amazing and should be read by everyone who is a superhero fan.
I was amazed at reading his blogs, and think that future classes should read them as a template for their own. These are just two examples of Jonah's blogs and these were chose because like i said before they were the common interests we share. All of his blogs go into great detail on the various subjects he covers, along with interactivity throughout them all. If you have the chance to go read some of his blogs i suggest you do so, you won't be disappointed.
