 Television

Everyone loves to sit down in their living room, with a plate full of food, and watch their favorite show on television. There are many different shows out right now, that audiences all over the country can relate too/like. Today I am going to talk about my favorite show of all time, The Office.

The Office

The Office is an American mockumentary sitcom television series, that first aired on March 24, 2005. It follows the lives of everyday office workers in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. The main characters include: Micheal Scott (Steve Carell), Dwight Shrute (Rainn Wilson), Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), Pam Halpert (Jenna Fischer), Kevin Malone (Brian Baumgartner), Creed Bratton, Oscar Martinez, Stanley Hudson (Leslie Baker), Phyllis Vance (Phyllis Smith), as well as many others. The show lasted a total of nine seasons, where its' last episode was aired May 16, 2013.

The show starts off slow in the first couple of seasons. Most people i talk to that say they don't like it never get past the second or third season because they "can't get into it." While yes I do agree the early seasons are slow, but they are essential to the story at large, and once you get into the later seasons you'll be hooked for life.

The Office is a show I believe everyone can get into. It has all kinds of comedic elements, it has serious moments, it never repeats itself, and a great story overall. I think that people can also relate themselves to at least one of the characters. Everyone has a little Dwight in them, or a Creed, or a Jim, I just think we can all relate to them because they are normal everyday office employees.

When Corona Virus hit the U.S. and the pandemic started many people were forced to stay home, and with stauing indoors means more time to watch television. In an article from The Washington Post, "For the past couple of years, “The Office” has been one of the most-streamed television shows on Netflix. Although the nine-seasonTV series has been off the air since 2013, it has found a second life through the popular streaming service, connecting with young first-time viewers who have rejuvenated its online pop cultural relevance. That notably hasn’t changed during the pandemic. In a recent Nielsen study, which surveyed streaming service viewership from March 9 to 15, “The Office” exceeded all TV shows with 1.23 billion minutes watched, excluding mobile and PC devices. With fear spiking and the crisis throwing many into economic uncertainty, “The Office” has remained the primary comedy currency for navigating life during the pandemic, a binge-watching balm for those looking to alleviate their social isolation."

In other words, my best advice to you during these hard and uncertain times would be WATCH THE OFFICE. It will make your day better!
