Pop Culture
There are many different aspects that make up what we call pop culture. That could be movies, television shows, social media, celebrities, sports, etc. In today's society pop culture seems to be the most important things in younger peoples lives. I have always been a movie fan, i would much rather watch a movie than a television show. (Other than The Office) Today, I am going to talk about Justice League: The Snyder Cut.
If you don't know what the Justice League is ill fill you in on it! If you have ever seen Marvels Avengers, the Justice League is just the D.C. version of that. The first appearance of the league was in 1960. The original super team included: Superman, Batman, Wonder Women, The Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Aquaman. Each of these superheroes have their own unique abilities, and each serve a significant role for the team. They each have their own origins and have their own enemies, but they all come together when the world is in need.

Now as we all know there is already a Justice League out. Although it adds a hero like Cyborg in it and leave out Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter, there was a lot of hype surrounding the film. The original director Zack Snyder, due to a terrible tragedy in his family had to step down, and let Joss Wheton take control. Well that did not go as good as they thought it would, it scored a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as a 6.3/10 on IMDb. One critic from Vanity Fair stated, "But once in awhile, there comes along something so egregiously bad that trying to find something good to say about it is its own kind of cruelty; such an obvious act of reaching only highlights the production’s garish dimensions, its abject failures. And, worse still, it can encourage more. In these instances, pure and unadorned honesty is really the only way to go, difficult as it may be to deliver. And so, dear Justice League, I must say that no, the lighting is not good. The script is not interesting. The costumes are not fun. The film is, plainly stated, terrible, and I’m sorry that everyone wasted their time and money making it—and that people are being asked to waste their time and money seeing it. I hate to be so blunt, but it simply must be said this time." Personally, I thought the same about the film, it was very sloppy, terrible CGI, and just a bad script. Even though they made a disaster of a film, there were still rumors that a Snyder cut, which was also rumored to be 1000 times better than Wheton's, was out there waiting to be released. For many months fans begged and begged for them to release it, and now it is finally happening.
Justice League: The Snyder Cut, is to be released on March 18th of this year on HBO Max. There is so much hype for this film, because it gives fans a chance to see a Justice League movie that is actually worth watching. The Hollywood Reporter stated this, ""It will be an entirely new thing, and, especially talking to those who have seen the released movie, a new experience apart from that movie," Snyder tells The Hollywood Reporter, noting that, to this day, he has not watched the version released in theaters. "You probably saw one-fourth of what I did," the director notes, basing his judgment on what has been shared with him of Whedon's version. Before Emmerich came calling, says Snyder, "I always thought it was a thing that in 20 years, maybe somebody would do a documentary and I could lend them the footage, little snippets of a cut no one has ever seen." After watching the trailer, I am beyond excited, there seems to be such a better story line, better CGI, more action, everything you need for a good superhero film. As a HUGE superhero fan, I want to see this movie succeed. The Justice League is just as big as the Avengers if not bigger, you can't have heroes like Superman and Batman, and not do them their justice by making a terrible film. There are rumors too that the film will be 4 hours long, and while yes that is a very long run time, i think it is necessary for them to build the characters stories, something the Wheton cut did not do. I encourage everyone to see this film, if you like anything that has to do with heroes or action then watch it!!! If you have time watch this trailer for the film, it was just released Sunday, and if this doesn't get you hype about the new and improved Justice League, I don't know what will.
